Michael J. Maley, PhD LP

Over the course of my 40 years as a psychotherapist I have explored many ways to help people change, reduce their suffering, and live more productive, healthful lives.  The disciplines I have studied and practiced include Somatic Psychology, Acupuncture and Energy Psychology, Mindfulness, EMDR, and Brainspotting.  My primary current modalities of therapy are a blend of somatic workmindfulnessEMDR, and Brainspotting. (see below for more information)

As a therapist, I work with adults experiencing traumas of all kinds including early life attachment trauma, PTSD, shock traumas from automobile accidents, sports injuries, sudden critical incidents, and traumatic losses.  I also can help with mood disorders like anxiety and depression, chronic shame, addictive patterns, difficult life transitions, relationship struggles, and the experience of moving into a more spiritually based life.

We know from neurological studies and personal experience that healing occurs best in spaces that provide a good therapeutic alliance, an environment that feels safe, and therapeutic tools that can change patterns deep in the brain.  I do my best to provide those for my clients.  I also believe that the most important agent of change is the clients own internal wisdom and awareness, and I attempt to help people find that Center in themselves.
